Responsibilities
Conduct proactive job site safety audits and field observations across Southern California
Analyze audit findings and present clear, actionable safety recommendations to operations leadership
Lead Root Cause Analysis (RCA) investigations and prepare detailed professional reports
Exercise independent judgment to address unsafe conditions, including the authority to stop work or shut down job sites when imminent hazards exist
Provide safety recommendations that may impact employee discipline or termination
Develop, review, and implement safe work procedures aligned with regulatory and operational requirements
Conduct hazard analysis and facilitate job hazard awareness with field crews
Serve as a liaison between internal departments and external regulatory agencies
Deliver and facilitate safety and regulatory training, including Confined Space, Traffic Control, and Excavation Practices
Respond to after-hours, weekend, or emergency safety incidents as needed
Analyze safety trends and metrics to support continuous improvement and risk mitigation
Perform additional duties as required
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental Science, or related field
3-4+ years of progressive safety experience, preferably in construction, utilities, or industrial environments
Strong working knowledge of OSHA and Cal/OSHA regulations
Demonstrated ability to make independent, high-impact safety decisions
Bilingual in English and Spanish
Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook); MS Teams a plus
Valid Class C driver's license with a clean driving record
Ability to work in rugged outdoor job sites and adverse weather conditions
