Packaging Supervisor

Kate McLeod creates solid body care products and is seeking a Packaging Supervisor to oversee day-to-day packaging operations at their Hudson Valley workshop. Responsibilities

Establish and communicate daily and weekly packaging goals, based on monthly goals provided by the Manager of Operations, company priorities and staffing levels
Organize and oversee the packaging team, ensuring that the team completes all tasks in an efficient manner and adheres to all internal processes. Step in where needed to propel the team forward/prep them for the daily tasks
Maintain accurate documentation of all inventory movements through paper logs, computer logs and internal ERP system
Review, refresh and maintain packaging SOPs and ensure any changes are appropriately documented and communicated out to the team
Coordinate, participate in and lead the QA process of all inbound shipments, ensuring that all inbound shipments are QA’d and counted in a timely manner
Manage all finished goods and packaging inventory levels alongside the Manager of Operations to ensure accurate stock levels are maintained. Reconcile discrepancies promptly
Coordinate, participate in and lead physical inventory counts
Ensure packaging tools and equipment are used properly and report maintenance or repair needs promptly
Implement process improvement, organization, and systems updates as it relates to all packaging processes.Support implementation of new equipment or packaging formats as needed
Communicate closely with Operations, Production, and Product Development teams to align on priorities, timelines, and product changes that impact packaging
Perform Packaging Assistant duties as required
Support the onboarding and training of new packaging team members, ensuring they understand key processes and standards related to packaging operations
Create a positive and motivating work environment for the packaging team, while fostering a culture of teamwork, accountability, and continuous improvement
Provide ongoing guidance, training, and support to team members to enhance performance and improve the skills of the group
Maintain training documentation and administer training to new packaging team members on applicable processes and procedures
Evaluate employee performance, providing coaching, feedback, and corrective action as needed
Develop and maintain robust organizational systems and inventory control within the warehouse and foster a neat and tidy work environment
Maintain adherence to all health and safety policies and ensure safe use of all packaging equipment, including pallet jacks
Contribute to routine workshop housekeeping and day-to-day operations of the workshop
Urgently communicate any quality, safety, or personnel concerns immediately to management

Required

2+ years of experience in packaging, production, warehouse, or manufacturing operations; prior supervisory or lead experience strongly preferred
Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to work efficiently under tight timelines while maintaining high quality standards
Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to collaborate effectively across internal teams and with external partners
Demonstrated growth mindset, with a proactive approach to learning, process improvement, and problem-solving
Ability to adapt quickly, troubleshoot issues, and make sound day-to-day decisions in a fast-paced environment
Basic computer proficiency, including documentation, logs, and internal systems
Available to work Monday–Friday, 9:00am–6:00pm, and occasional Saturdays with flexibility to meet changing business needs
Ability to maintain quality control and cleanliness standards
Ability to lift 55 pounds repeatedly and frequently push, pull, squat, bend, and reach
Ability to stand/walk for up to 8 hours during shifts
