Intern, Director/ExecutiveVirginia's Community College System is seeking a Department Chair of Electrical and Industrial Systems to provide leadership and support within the department. The role involves supervising faculty, managing departmental resources, and assisting the Division Dean with various administrative tasks.

Responsibilities
Interviews and makes recommendations on the hiring of part-time faculty
With the help of the faculty, recommends budget and supply requests for the department and helps manage departmental resources
Mentors faculty, both full and part-time, on best practices in higher education, instructional technology, and college policy and practices
Conducts annual evaluations for part-time faculty within the Division
Supervises the assessment activities of the department, including general education assessment if applicable
Assists with accrediting activities
Supports the dean in all areas of curriculum management and oversite including program planning, quality assurance, compliance with instructional requirements, and internship/clinical placements
Assists with recruitment and outreach activities
Other duties as assigned
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in a field pertinent to the department supervised
