Responsibilities
Firmware verification strategy across component, integration, and system levels
Leadership and development of firmware verification engineers
Compliance with FDA, ISO, and IEC firmware lifecycle standards
Risk-based test planning aligned with design inputs and hazard analysis
Traceability between requirements, risks, tests, and verification evidence
Test automation strategy and CI-enabled verification pipelines
Audit-ready documentation and inspection support
Lead and mentor firmware verification engineers through full V&V cycles
Define and implement risk-based firmware test strategies
Establish scalable test methods using manual and automated approaches
Drive HIL and SIL decisions and firmware test architecture
Partner with Systems Engineering and Quality to ensure requirements coverage
Track and improve verification metrics such as code coverage and defect escape
Lead fault injection and security-focused firmware testing including secure boot and OTA validation
Maintain test plans, protocols, reports, and traceability matrices
Investigate verification failures and drive root cause and corrective actions
Ensure firmware test labs and execution processes meet quality system expectations
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or related field
8+ years of firmware verification or validation experience
2+ years in an engineering management, technical lead, or people leadership role
Experience delivering embedded systems in regulated or safety-critical environments
Strong understanding of firmware lifecycle controls and compliance expectations
