They are seeking an experienced Audit Supervisor to lead audit engagements, maintain key client relationships, and supervise the audit team to ensure high quality client service.

Responsibilities

Perform audit procedures including risk assessments, tests of controls, substantive testing, and sample selection
Analyze financial statements and records to ensure compliance with GAAP and internal control standards
Oversee the efforts of multiple client engagements at once, in a variety of industries with the ability to manage and budget
Identify control weaknesses and work with management to recommend improvements
Effectively & actively communicate important and time sensitive matters
Research and interpret accounting standards and principles
Prepare clear and concise audit workpapers documenting procedures performed
Assist in drafting reports to communicate audit findings and recommendations
Stay updated on audit standards, regulations, and the Firm’s policies and procedures
Actively participate in recruiting talent to the firm
Adhere to the highest degree of professional standards and strict client confidentiality

Required

5 or more years' experience in an external or internal audit role
Certified Public Accountant (CPA) required
Ability to lead and contribute within the firm's culture and values
Professional competency and proficiency in auditing and financial reporting functions
Advanced knowledge of GAAP, GAAS, and internal control standards
Demonstrate a commitment to accuracy and quality while meeting goals and deadlines
Proficiency in Microsoft Office and audit software
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Ability to be self-directed, work with a team or autonomously
Excellent client development/relationship building skills
Ability to resolve complex accounting issues
Ability to travel to client offices in the Middle Tennessee area
Excellent written, verbal & listening communication skills with clients and team members
Organizational skills & ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines
Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance
