Responsibilities
Design and Development: Leading the design, development, and maintenance of robust, scalable web applications using technologies such as HTML, CSS, JavaScript, C#, Java, and modern frameworks
Performing all software lifecycle activities, including requirements analysis, design, coding, testing, deployment, and ongoing maintenance and bug fixes
Designing and building RESTful APIs and microservices, managing database schemas (e.g., SQL Server, Postgres), and integrating with complex, potentially legacy, DoD systems including mainframes and cloud environments (MS Azure, WS GovCloud, Azure SQL)
Applying secure coding practices in accordance with strict government regulations, such as DoD STIGs (Security Technical Implementation Guides) and RMF (Risk Management Framework) guidelines
Ensuring applications meet compliance requirements for relevant standards like FISMA, and DoD Impact Levels (IL)
Maintaining an active U.S. security clearance as a condition of employment
Working within cross-functional, often Agile or DevSecOps, teams (including UI/UX designers, QA teams, and stakeholders) to define requirements and deliver projects
Providing leadership and mentorship to junior developers and technical staff, guiding them through complex technical challenges
Developing and maintaining technical documentation, operating instructions, and user guides for applications and systems
Utilizing DevSecOps principles and CI/CD pipelines for automated deployments and continuous integration, using tools like GitLab, Jenkins, and Jira
Debugging and resolving complex technical issues quickly to maintain the performance, security, and integrity of mission-critical applications
Staying current with emerging web technologies, industry trends, and potentially integrating AI tools to recommend and implement software upgrades for existing systems
Qualification
Required
Master of Science Degree in Computer Science or related field
Five (5) years of experience in scripting, software development, web page design and development, hands-on software development/web-page development
Experience with FrontPage, DreamWeaver or related applications
Must have strong experience with Agile software development methodologies
Strong customer relation skills
Experience utilizing C#.Net, HTML, XML, PERL, and or Apache
8570/8140: Category IAT Level III such as CISM, CISSP or equivalent
CE: Role: Server Admin Applications: Certification in one or more relevant areas for Web Developer with admin accounts/privileged access functions. Function: Web Developer with admin accounts/privileged access. Certifications include HPE Webinspect, MCSD App Builder, MCSA Web Applications or MS Web Developer I
