CAD Drafting Intern
City of Seattle is seeking a CAD Drafter Intern to join their Engineering & Technology Operations Division. This role involves assisting with 3D laser scanning and managing project data to ensure accurate and timely drawings for hydroelectric projects and high voltage substations.

Responsibilities
Assisting Senior to operate 3D Laser scanning equipment to collect and process 3D data
Register, process and creating point clouds using FARO Scene
Combining multi point cloud data sets into one registered point cloud
Organize and manage all project data for consistency and real-time access
Qualification
Required
Undergraduate Engineering students will need to maintain a 2.5 GPA or above throughout the internship
Enrolled in an accredited certificate, 2-year or 4-year undergraduate program during their internship
Enrolled in an academic program with focus on Civil Engineering, Drafting or Surveying
Preferred
Coursework in CAD, drafting, surveying or civil engineering
Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
An independent problem solver
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Experience with AutoCAD/Civil 3D drafting
Benefits
Interns do not receive benefits but can obtain a subsidized ORCA pass and accrue sick time that can be used after 90 days of employment.
