Electrical Engineering GIS Technician Intern
City of Seattle is one of the nation’s largest municipally owned utilities, recognized for energy efficiency and environmental stewardship. The Looped Radial Mapping team is seeking interns to work with Electrical Engineering Specialists to process engineering as-built drawings and update map data using ArcMap.

Responsibilities
Decipher as-built drawings then digitize them and upload them to appropriate repositories
Update customer meter data via ArcMap
Create polygons in ArcMap that represent planned distribution work
Qualification
Required
Undergraduate Engineering students will need to maintain a 2.5 GPA or above throughout the internship
Enrolled in an accredited certificate, 2-year or 4-year undergraduate program during their internship
Enrolled in an academic program with focus on Geography, GIS, Electrical Engineering
Preferred
Coursework in GIS (ArcMap or relevant ESRI software) or Electrical Engineering
Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
An independent problem solver
Strong verbal and written communication skills

Interns do not receive benefits but can obtain a subsidized ORCA pass and accrue sick time that can be used after 90 days of employment.
