Director of Communications & Marketing

Trilogy is seeking a Director of Communications & Marketing responsible for developing effective internal and external messaging and communication strategies. This role involves directing the efforts of assigned employees, coordinating with other departments, and executing the organization’s communication and marketing strategies to enhance Trilogy’s brand identity and visibility.

Responsibilities

Develop and execute a strategic communications plan to strengthen Trilogy’s brand identity, increase visibility across key audiences, and enhance the organization’s reputation within the community
Ensure all communications align with organizational priorities, including strategic objectives, program initiatives, and advocacy efforts
Create and implement a comprehensive internal communications strategy that addresses existing gaps and establishes clear guidelines for consistent internal messaging
Serve as the organization’s primary media contact and spokesperson, managing press inquiries and proactively securing media opportunities to increase earned media coverage and press placements
Lead the development of targeted media materials, including press releases, media kits, and key messaging, and oversee content production to strengthen the organization’s presence in local media
Build and maintain strong relationships with journalists and community leaders to advance the organization’s messaging and visibility
Drive brand awareness and audience engagement through integrated digital and traditional media strategies
Maintain consistent branding and messaging across all platforms, materials, and campaigns
Drive the creation of impactful content, strategic storytelling, and thought leadership materials that elevate the organization’s visibility and influence
Craft talking points and key messages for leadership, ensuring alignment with strategic priorities
Provide media and communications training to staff as needed
Plan, develop, and execute integrated marketing strategies and communications to advance Trilogy’s mission and brand presence
Leverage video, digital, social media, and other platforms to enhance communication effectiveness, drive website traffic, boost social engagement, and optimize digital campaign performance
Design and implement targeted marketing campaigns using analytics and data-driven insights to engage priority audiences
Lead and oversee marketing initiatives to ensure consistency in messaging, branding, and execution across all channels
Lead the implementation of internal communications strategies to keep staff and board members informed, engaged, and aligned with organizational priorities
Collaborate with clinical and administrative teams to deliver consistent, tailored messaging; identify communication needs; and continuously improve processes based on feedback
Provide strategic oversight and direction for daily communications operations, ensuring a high-performing team with defined goals and accountability measures
Establish clear performance expectations, manage workflow, and foster professional growth through coaching and development opportunities
Monitor and evaluate communication strategies using key performance indicators, leveraging data to measure impact and inform continuous improvement
Perform other related duties and/or projects as assigned

Required

A Bachelor's degree in Communications, Marketing, Public Relations, Journalism, or a related field is required
Minimum five to seven years of professional experience in communications, marketing, or public relations, preferably within a complex not-for-profit environment
Proficient in media relations, crisis communication, and digital marketing strategies
Proven expertise in crafting and implementing storytelling strategies that foster engagement and deliver meaningful impact
Excellent written and oral communications skills
Exceptional interpersonal skills with the ability and personality to work collaboratively, accept responsibility, and motivate colleagues, volunteers, and donors
Proficient in using analytics software, social media management applications, and content management technologies
Goal oriented with a high level of energy, enthusiasm, and dedication to the mission and goals of the organization
Demonstrated management experience, successful leadership, and mentorship of professional and support staff
Strong leadership and delegation skills; sound judgment and integrity
Willingness to try new approaches and take appropriate risks
