2026 Summer Intern – Research Oncology
Genentech is seeking a 2026 Summer Intern in the Department of Research Oncology to join the de Sauvage Lab. The intern will apply molecular biology and computational approaches to study treatment-induced plasticity in colorectal cancer and participate in drug discovery efforts.

Responsibilities
Work to characterize mechanisms of treatment-related plasticity in cell lines and 3D organoid models of cancer
Analyze ‘omics data to provide insights into mechanisms of tumor suppression
Keep detailed records of the research findings using an electronic notebook
Communicate and present results to a diverse group of scientists during internal meetings
Join a vibrant, rigorous, and industry-leading oncology community
Contribute to a highly innovative project and collaborate productively with researchers across departments at Genentech
Qualification
Required
Must be pursuing a PhD (enrolled student)
Molecular Biology, Cell Biology, Cancer Biology, Biochemistry or related fields
Hands-on research experience in cell biology/biochemistry/molecular biology lab environment is required
Expertise in advanced cell culture techniques such as cell line engineering using CRISPR/Cas9 or PiggyBac transposon systems
Demonstrated ability to be highly motivated and work independently
Preferred
Excellent communication, collaboration, and interpersonal skills

Expertise in bulk and single-nucleus RNA-seq and ATAC-seq data analysis (R or Python)
