The Design Engineer is responsible for the design of transportation projects including responsibilities such as reviewing and developing plans, specifications, and observation reports to ensure they are complete, accurate, and in accordance with sound engineering practice.

Responsibilities
Provide technically expertise in the resolution of design problems
Perform field investigations or observations
Coordinate specific design aspects of a project requiring the ability to plan, schedule, conduct and communicate work with the team
Serve as an assistant construction project team member with assigned responsibility for the administration of construction engineering projects with the potential for travel during construction season
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or similar field
Must have permanent authorization to work in the US
Excellent verbal/written communications
Excellent time management skills
Superior interpersonal and organizational skills
Demonstrates openness to innovation by embracing and applying evolving technology and AI tools to enhance workflows, solve problems, and drive continuous improvement
Preferred
CDOT, ACI or related certifications for Asphalt and/or Concrete
EIT certification and the ability to obtain PE registration within 1 year
Minimum of 2 years of engineering experience
Understanding of municipal design including storm sewer, sanitary sewer, and water main design projects
Proven experience in Microsoft Software Applications (Word, Excel, Power Point, Access), additional software knowledge depending on specialization
Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D
