This role is responsible for translating complex business needs into scalable, secure, and resilient technical architectures, focusing on order management, fulfillment, pricing, inventory, and enterprise integrations.

Responsibilities
Design end-to-end enterprise application solutions supporting PetSmart’s retail and omni-channel business capabilities
Architect solutions supporting order management, fulfillment, retail pricing and promotions, replenishment, and in-store inventory management
Translate business and functional requirements into solution designs, architecture diagrams, and technical specifications
Define target-state and transition architectures aligned with PetSmart’s enterprise roadmaps and business strategy
Evaluate and recommend technology solutions, balancing SaaS capabilities, configuration, and custom development
Ensure solutions meet enterprise non-functional requirements including performance, scalability, security, availability, resiliency, and supportability
Create and maintain conceptual, logical, and physical architecture views; document architecture decisions, constraints, and tradeoffs
Partner with Enterprise Architecture, Security, Operations, and DevOps teams to ensure alignment with standards and operational readiness
Identify architectural risks, dependencies, and tradeoffs; evaluate alternative solutions and recommend optimal paths forward
Partner with Enterprise Architecture to ensure solution designs consistently adopt enterprise standards, patterns, and architectural guardrails
Qualification
Required
5-7 years of experience in Solution Architecture, Enterprise Architecture, or Senior Technical Design roles
Retail industry experience supporting omni-channel or multi-channel commerce environments
Strong experience with enterprise integrations and distributed systems
Ability to communicate complex technical concepts to technical and non-technical stakeholders
