Responsibilities
Design, develop, and customize ServiceNow applications, modules, and integrations using JavaScript, Glide APIs, Flow Designer, Integration Hub, UI Builder, and other platform components
Implement and enhance core ITSM/ITOM/ITAM modules such as Incident, Problem, Change, CMDB, Service Catalog, Service Mapping, Discovery, Hardware Asset Management (HAM), Software Asset Management (SAM), etc
Create complex client scripts, business rules, script includes, UI policies, UI actions, and scheduled jobs
Build and maintain scoped applications and custom modules following ServiceNow best practices and coding standards
Support release version upgrades by addressing skipped records, remediating deprecated functionality, and ensuring compatibility across modules and integrated systems (e.g. SailPoint IIQ)
Translate business requirements into robust technical solutions that leverage native platform capabilities
Participate in solution design sessions, providing technical expertise and recommendations
Ensure solutions meet security, performance, compliance, and maintainability standards
Support implementation of CSDM, CMDB data modeling, Service Graph Connector integrations, and data quality initiatives
Design and implement integrations between ServiceNow and external systems using REST/SOAP APIs, MID Server, Integration Hub spokes, and event-based or scheduled data exchanges
Troubleshoot integration issues and ensure secure, reliable data flow
Maintain platform stability, performance tuning, and proactive issue detection
Support development lifecycle processes including branching, code review, automated testing, and CI/CD pipelines
Contribute to platform governance, coding standards, and documentation
Mentor junior developers and guide best practices across the ServiceNow team
Work with process owners, product owners, and business analysts to clarify requirements and evaluate solution options
Provide level-3 support for complex ServiceNow issues and enhancements
Communicate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders effectively
Qualification
Required
5–8+ years of hands-on ServiceNow development experience in enterprise environments
Strong proficiency in JavaScript, GlideScript, Flow Designer, and ServiceNow server/client-side scripting
Deep knowledge of core ServiceNow modules and capabilities (ITSM, ITOM, ITAM, CMDB, Service Catalog, Discovery, Service Portal/UI Builder, Employee Center and Widgets)
Experience with REST/SOAP integrations, MID Server, Integration Hub, and API authentication mechanisms (OAuth, Basic, MTLS)
Strong understanding of the CSDM data model, CMDB architecture, and service mapping
Experience with Agile/Scrum methodology and working in a sprint-based environment
Ability to document technical designs, data flows, and solution architecture
Preferred
ServiceNow certifications such as: Certified System Administrator (CSA), Certified Application Developer (CAD), ITSM, ITOM, Discovery, CMDB, Service Mapping, or other specialty certifications
Experience building custom spokes, event-driven architectures, or AI/ML-enabled ServiceNow features
Familiarity with DevOps, Git, ATF (Automated Test Framework), or CI/CD integration
Experience or familiarity with integrating vulnerability/security applications such as Vulcan/Tenable
Familiarity with Jira/Atlassian integrations (Tempo Teams familiarity is a plus), connectors, web hooks, etc
Knowledge of ITIL v4 practices and enterprise service management processes
Experience with ServiceNow domain separation or multi-instance/multi-region environments
