Cost Accounting Intern
Seattle City Light, a department of the City of Seattle, is one of the nation’s largest municipally owned utilities. They are seeking a Cost Accounting Intern to assist with various accounting tasks including asset allocation, billing, and project costing while gaining real-world experience in accounting practices.

Responsibilities
Assist with the Make Ready Work Final Billing process by preparing cost reconciliation final bill packets
Review & approve work orders in the Work Asset Management System (WAMS) for cost tracking
Update essential month-end reports
Assist with the asset capitalization process from construction work in process to fixed assets
Record transactions to the General Ledger via journal entries in the PeopleSoft Financial System
Assist with processing billing invoices
Prepare & update department policies and procedures
Ad-hoc projects and reporting
Qualification
Required
Undergraduate Accounting students will need to maintain a 2.5 GPA or above throughout the internship
Preferred
Enrolled in an accredited certificate, 2-year or 4-year program during their internship
Be enrolled in an academic program in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or Business
Experience with Microsoft products – most notably Excel, additionally Word, Outlook, Teams
Prior work experience with basic accounting principles
Strong written and verbal communication skills
