Director/ExecutiveIndigenous Roots Productions (IRP) is a U.S.-based 501(c)(3) nonprofit dedicated to preserving and amplifying Indigenous oral histories. They are seeking a Treasurer to join their Board of Directors to provide fiduciary oversight and financial governance as the organization expands donor engagement and strengthens internal systems.

Responsibilities
Provide board-level oversight of IRP’s financial health and risk management
Review and present financial reports to the Board on a regular cadence
Ensure appropriate financial controls, policies, and procedures are in place
Support donor confidence through transparent and accurate financial reporting
Advise on grant readiness, restricted funds, and compliance requirements
Partner with the Executive Director to align budgets with strategic priorities
Oversee (but not necessarily execute) bookkeeping, accounting, and reporting functions
Support clean transitions and documentation for long-term organizational sustainability
Qualification
Required
Background in finance, accounting, auditing, or nonprofit financial management
Experience with nonprofit financial governance, compliance, or fiduciary oversight
Ability to distinguish between board-level oversight and operational execution
Comfort working with limited capacity and evolving systems in a grassroots organization
Familiarity with donor tracking, restricted funds, or grant-related reporting (direct or indirect)
Strong judgment, integrity, and commitment to transparency
Ability to communicate financial information clearly to non-financial board members
Preferred
Experience with donor management or fundraising-adjacent financial reporting
Familiarity with tools such as QuickBooks, Givebutter, Stripe, or similar platforms
Experience with international or cross-cultural organizations
Prior service on a nonprofit board
