Responsibilities

Clean and manage metadata
Access, store, and document raw data
Coordinate with project team members
Meet publication requirements, including data and code repositing
Sample/sequencing quality control assessment
Develop new and Implement existing analytic packages and workflows
Adapt existing resources as needed to meet project needs
Develop novel analyses and visualizations
Present at regular team meetings
Clear code documentation
Support report preparation
Support proposal writing efforts

Required

Pursuing a four-year degree with an expected graduation between December 2026 and Summer 2028
Must have an overall 2.8 GPA
Interns must have their own reliable transportation to and from work
Willing to relocate to one of our ADM locations in North America
Successful completion of a background check is required
Must be available for a summer internship from mid-May to early August 2026
Work visa sponsorship is not available for this role
Bachelor's in Computational Biology or related field OR Equivalent combination of training and experience
Two years of experiences in genome mapping, SNP calling, genotyping, etc. packages and pipelines
Skilled with MS Access, Linux/Unix, R, Python, and shell scripting
Utilize and adapt existing analytic packages and workflows
Ability to work independently and as part of a team while being collaborative in resolving problems
Ability to identify IT network challenges and provide secure and creative solutions
Ability to prioritize multiple tasks at one time
Ability to learn new and innovative processes quickly
Ability to use tact and diplomacy to maintain effective working relationships

Preferred

Bachelor's degree in (Bio)informatics, or (Bio)statistics, or computer science
Previous experience managing and processing research data/files
Familiarity with inherited and acquired variant calling
Experience with cluster computing
Understanding evolutionary principles
Familiarity with SQL
