Responsibilities
Manage all aspects of the discovery process for employment litigation matters, including propounding and responding to discovery in compliance with the California Code of Civil Procedure
Draft and prepare discovery responses, correspondence, and litigation-related documents under attorney supervision
Coordinate and track discovery deadlines, responses, and litigation milestones to ensure accuracy and timeliness
Assist attorneys with trial preparation, including organizing trial binders and exhibit binders
Work directly with clients to gather information and assist with preparing discovery responses, while providing case status updates as needed
Communicate with opposing counsel regarding discovery issues, extensions, and procedural matters
Maintain organized and up-to-date case files using Filevine or comparable case management systems
Qualification
Required
Minimum of 2 years of experience in discovery or litigation support; employment law experience is strongly preferred
Strong working knowledge of the California Code of Civil Procedure as it relates to discovery
Experience drafting discovery responses, correspondence, and litigation-related documents
Prior experience assisting with trial preparation and litigation support
Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple cases and competing deadlines
Ability to work collaboratively with attorneys, legal assistants, and support staff
Familiarity with Filevine or similar legal case management software
Preferred
Bilingual in English and Spanish preferred
