Responsibilities

Greet all visitors entering City Hall with quality customer service
Serve as the initial point of contact for all visitors’ questions and concerns
Validate visitors for meetings with designated City staff in all City Departments
Escort visitors to their destination at the building, including assistance to access each floor
Assist with the registration of visitors and maintain and update visitor logs and records daily
Respond to customer inquiries and complaints in a timely and efficient manner, resolve problems within area of assignment, explain applicable policies and procedures to visitors and enforce adherence, as required

Required

High school diploma/GED and no previous experience required
Valid Texas driver's license
CJIS clearance
Applicants for this position must pass a Criminal Justice Information Systems (CJIS) fingerprint-based background check and maintain CJIS eligibility
Due to CJIS requirements related to system access, the following will result in being disqualified for this position: Felony Convictions, Felony Deferred Adjudication, Class A Misdemeanor Conviction, Class B Misdemeanor Convictions in the last 10 years, Class A Misdemeanor Deferred Adjudication, Class B Misdemeanor Deferred Adjudication in the last 10 years, an Open Arrest for Any Criminal Offense (Felony or Misdemeanor), and ALL Family Violence Convictions regardless of class

Preferred

Knowledge of effective methods and techniques of customer service, including critical thinking, ability to communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing, and respond to requests and inquiries from visitors
Knowledge of principles and practices of data entry and record keeping, including the ability to maintain and update a variety of accurate files, records and reports
Knowledge of modern office procedures, methods and equipment including computers and knowledge of MS Office software
Bi-lingual (English and Spanish) preferred
