The California Department of Developmental Services is responsible for providing services and supports to individuals with developmental disabilities. The Analyst II will collaborate with various departments to enhance fiscal monitoring and assist in planning for Capital Outlay and maintenance projects related to developmental centers and community facilities.

Responsibilities

Collaborates with staff within departmental Facilities Planning and Support Section, at Porterville Developmental Center, and Department of General Services (DGS) Real Estate Services Division (RESD) to enhance the fiscal monitoring, accountability, and projects’ status related to availability of funds
Works with Department Management and Department of Finance (DOF) to assist in both short and long-range planning of Capital Outlay, Special Repairs (SR) and Deferred Maintenance (DM) projects for the Developmental Centers or Community Facilities

Required

Candidates must be residents of the State of California at the time of appointment
This position requires lawful authorization to work in the United States
Work is performed in an open-spaced partitioned office environment
Position requires extensive use of personal computer and telephones
Requires working under fast paced conditions and irregular hours during peak workload periods or high-priority assignments
This position requires the incumbent to maintain excellent, consistent and regular attendance
Complete assignments in a timely and efficient manner; and adhere to State and departmental policies and procedures
The Statement of Qualifications (SOQ) must be typed in 12-point Arial font, single spaced, and be no more than two pages in length
Applicants who fail to answer the question below or submit an SOQ may not be considered

Statement of Qualifications - A Statement of Qualifications (SOQ) is required and is a narrative discussion of how the candidate's education, training, experience, and skills meet the minimum and desirable qualifications and qualify them for the position

Preferred

Knowledge of personal computers, software, and databases to effectively prepare reports, manuals, and correspondence
Knowledge of budgeting, forecasting, accounting, contracts, project management principles, practices and trends of public and business administration, management, and supportive staff services (i.e., budgeting, personnel, and management analysis) to effectively perform the duties assigned
Knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word, Teams, PowerPoint, SharePoint, Zoom, and Adobe Acrobat
Ability to work with a team and with minimal supervision and independently initiate recommendations to implement and accomplish the department's goals and objectives
Ability to plan, organize and prioritize workload to meet established deadlines
Excellent customer service, communication, and analytical skills
