Hardware Engineering IPT Lead
Lockheed Martin is responsible for designing, developing, and testing next-generation missile systems. The IPT Lead will spearhead a multidisciplinary engineering team to deliver a complete interceptor solution while managing budgets and schedules, and ensuring compliance with program requirements.

Responsibilities
Providing overall technical direction and leadership for the interceptor design, development and test effort
Managing the multidisciplinary IPT, aligning electrical, mechanical, structures, lethality, propulsion, thermal, materials, processes and environments engineering activities
Collaborating with performance and systems engineers, production, quality assurance, test operations and the global supply chain to ensure a coherent customer solution
Balancing customer requirements with affordability and producibility goals, driving trade studies and cost reduction initiatives
Coordinating closely with the IFPC 2 Magazine team on AUR M production integration and schedule alignment
Owning the interceptor program’s budget, schedule and resource allocation, and reporting status to senior leadership
Leading risk identification, mitigation planning and issue resolution processes across the IPT
Conducting design review and verification milestones (PDR, CDR, Test Readiness Reviews) and ensuring compliance with all program requirements
Managing configuration control, documentation and technical data packages in accordance with Lockheed Martin standards
Mentoring engineers across disciplines, fostering an inclusive, collaborative culture and promoting professional development
Supporting occasional travel to supplier sites, test facilities or customer locations as required to meet program milestones
Qualification
Required
MUST BE A U.S. CITIZEN - This position is located at a facility that requires special access
An active Secret Clearance with investigation or CV date within 5 years is required to start

Preferred
Masters degree in Electrical or Mechanical engineering
Direct experience on interceptor or defensive missile programs
Experienced with engineering supply chain management
Experience leading failure review and analysis
Familiar with Lockheed Martin electrical and/or mechanical design and development tools (Siemens Xpedition, PTC Creo / Windchill)
Functional team leadership experience
