3+ years expPlacement By Design, Inc. is seeking a BIM Modeler with a focus on Multifamily Home Design to provide drafting and modeling support to the Planning and Design-Build teams. The BIM Modeler will be responsible for modeling new unit types, modifying existing units, and maintaining an active Unit Catalogue while ensuring compliance with established modeling and documentation standards.
Architecture & Planning
Responsibilities
Provide BIM modeling / CAD drafting
Obtain work assignments of either specific design and documentation elements from the Project Managers and the Architecture and Interior Design Director
Coordinate and manage Revit models
Review all produced work for completeness and accuracy
Ensure coordination between finish schedules and drawings
Use checklists set up for quality control on each project and submit work according to deadlines
Coordinate BIM file exchange and archiving of milestone submittals
Complete printing and plotting requests
Observe professional ethics
Demonstrate a proactive approach to learning new digital design tools
Qualification
Required
3-5+ years of related work experience, preferably in Design-Build and Multifamily Revit Architecture or Interior Design
High-level BIM Experience and Competency
Understanding of general Architectural and Interior products and systems
Understanding of CAD/BIM customization and automatization
Ability to work on multiple short- and long-term tasks in a fast-paced design environment with multiple, separate project deadlines
Ability to quickly absorb and utilize company-specific techniques, standards, and procedures
Strong written and verbal communication
Strong ability to develop concepts into plans, RCPs, elevations, millwork details, finish transitions, etc
Strong furniture design skills and optimizing space efficiency
Ability to draft and modify schedules and product specifications
Preferred
Knowledge in Visual Scripting or Coding (i.e., Dynamo) will have added advantages
