GE Vernova Energy Optimization Software Intern - Summer 2026
GE Vernova is dedicated to addressing the climate crisis while electrifying the world. They are seeking an intern to focus on software solutions within Wholesale Energy Markets, tackling problems related to energy optimization.

Responsibilities
Work on solving interesting problems related to Wholesale Energy Markets, including Unit Commitment, Economical Dispatch, Optimal Power flow and other software solutions
Qualification
Required
Currently enrolled in a Master's or Ph. D Degree program at an accredited university or credentialed software accelerator program
Degree focused on Electrical Engineering, Power Systems, Computer Science, or Computer Engineering
Minimum cumulative or in-major 3.0/4.0 GPA
Must commit to working full time (40 hrs/wk) during the internship
Must be willing to work out of an office located in Bellevue, WA
Must have the ability to work in the US for an unlimited amount of time without sponsorship
Preferred
Familiarity with machine learning, deep learning, GPU applications, or quantum computing
Background in optimization or power systems
Hands-on coding experience
Experience with artificial intelligence and conversational AI technologies for developing intelligent assistants
Benefits
Relocation Assistance: Co-op/Interns will be reimbursed for reasonable, proper, and documented expenditures incurred while initially reporting to work and returning to school/home upon completion of the assignment. Employees with a permanent address greater than 50 miles away from the work location are eligible.
Housing Allowance: Co-op/Interns employees receive a weekly housing allowance to help off-set living expenses when the co-op/Intern’s permanent residence is at least 50 miles away from the work location.
