Lead/StaffDovetail Product Development is a team of engineers tackling novel hardware challenges across various industries, and they are seeking a Lead Electrical Engineer. This role involves not just engineering but also leadership, strategy, and project execution, where the engineer will oversee projects from concept to prototype while fostering a collaborative team environment.

Responsibilities
Own electrical designs across a wide range of industries, from aerospace to medical to EV chargers
Guide full-time staff and contractors, setting the standard for quality, efficiency, and innovation
Work with clients to turn ideas into actionable designs and be a key player in how we grow our engineering capabilities
Oversee projects from early concepts to final prototypes
Help foster a team that collaborates, shares knowledge, and works without ego
Qualification
Required
Proficiency with Altium for schematic capture and board layout
Experience with tools like LTSpice, PSpice, or other circuit simulators
Experience with hands-on board bring-up, troubleshooting, and embedded system debugging
Familiarity with microcontrollers, embedded C, and peripheral integration
Knowledge of designing to meet standards like FCC, UL, CE, IEC 60601, and other industry-specific regulations
Experience designing to meet EMI/EMC standards and troubleshooting compliance issues
Understanding of power supply design, high-speed signal integrity, and grounding best practices
You've worked across multiple industries (aerospace, medical, EV, consumer, etc.) and can jump between analog, digital, embedded, and power electronics
You're just as comfortable rolling up your sleeves for board bring-up as you are leading a design review
You see beyond the schematic and understand the impact of engineering decisions on timelines, budgets, and product success
You don't wait for direction; you find the problems and solve them
