Responsibilities
Prepare and assist in filing federal, state, and local income tax returns
Support the calculation and filing of sales & use tax, property tax, and other business taxes
Assist with the preparation of annual tax provisions in compliance with ASC 740 (if applicable)
Maintain accurate tax workpapers, schedules, and supporting documentation
Addressing tax notices and following up with them with various jurisdictions
Research tax laws, rulings, and regulations to support compliance and planning activities
Prepare technical memos and summaries for review by senior tax staff
Assist in gathering data and responding to inquiries during tax audits
Maintain organized records to support tax positions and minimize risk
Work with Finance, Accounting, and other departments to gather tax-related information
Provide basic tax support on business transactions and projects as needed
Stay current with evolving tax regulations and participate in ongoing learning
Work under the mentorship of senior tax staff to build technical and analytical skills
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
2 years of experience in tax, public accounting, or a related field
Knowledge of U.S. federal and state tax regulations; exposure to ASC 740 preferred
Proficiency in tax compliance software (e.g., PTMS) and Alteryx
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
Ability to work independently while meeting deadlines in a fast-paced environment
Preferred
CPA designation or progress toward certification is a plus
