Senior Talent Business Affairs Manager
7Miles Global specializes in intellectual property optimization, assisting advertisers, agencies, and production companies with managing their brand assets. The Senior Talent Business Affairs Manager is responsible for overseeing talent-related business affairs and ensuring client success through effective management and collaboration with internal teams and clients.
Responsibilities
Serve as the primary Business Affairs contact for an assigned group of clients, including a focus on third-party signatory productions
Lead internal teams to deliver comprehensive Talent and Business Affairs solutions
Partner with client BA, Marketing, Creative, Project Management, Legal, Finance, and Accounts Payable teams
Retain and manage relationships with cost consultants and financial partners
Provide subject matter expertise for additional 7Miles projects
Proactively manage client relationships to ensure retention and satisfaction
Manage union and non-union talent business affairs in accordance with client scope of work
Onboard and advise clients on third-party signatory requirements
Review scripts, boards, and casting breakdowns to assess talent scope, cost, and risk
Prepare session budgets, estimates, revisions, and renewals
Ensure proper Workers’ Compensation coverage
Prepare SAG-AFTRA–compliant casting specs and oversee all production documentation
Attend pre-production meetings and flag potential issues
Collaborate with on-set signatory representatives to resolve talent issues
Oversee Taft-Hartley forms, Station 12s, waivers, audits, and union compliance
Manage talent negotiations, renewals, holding fees, guarantees, and cycle expirations
Oversee accurate and timely talent payments and payroll processing
Track deadlines, actualize costs, close jobs, and maintain organized records
Estimate, negotiate, and manage usage, rights, permissions, and transfers of rights
Enter and maintain data in Rights Management systems
Manage workflow, priorities, and daily operations for assigned teams
Foster collaboration and provide guidance, training, and coaching
Monitor and improve processes and procedures
Partner with management to develop training tools for teams and clients
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree preferred (minimum 4 years of college coursework required)
5+ years of Advertising Industry Talent Business Affairs experience
3+ years of hands-on experience with SAG-AFTRA Commercials and Corporate/Education & Non-Broadcast Contracts
3+ years of payroll experience, including non-union payments and labor law compliance
Advanced knowledge of SAG-AFTRA Commercials Contract; working knowledge of other SAG-AFTRA agreements
Knowledge of AFM contracts and union/non-union talent management
Experience with talent budgeting, estimating, session fees, and residuals
Social media and influencer talent negotiation experience
Strong understanding of advertising legal guidelines and labor laws, including minors
Excellent client service, analytical, organizational, and communication skills
Ability to manage confidential information
Strong multitasking skills and ability to work under pressure
Proficiency in Microsoft 365 and willingness to learn new systems
Flexible, adaptable, and committed to ongoing professional development
Willingness to travel as needed
Ability to work West Coast time (PT) preferred
