Responsibilities
Lead the Individual Tax Audit Section
Oversee the planning and execution of audit programs
Provide leadership to Revenue Administrators, Revenue Specialists, Revenue Examiners, and clerical staff
Ensure efficient operations, adherence to procedures, and consistent performance
Monitor daily workload and productivity
Allocate resources effectively
Meet operational goals
Review and update compliance program business rules each tax year
Develop new rules for emerging programs
Prepare monthly production reports for the Director’s Office
Handle disciplinary actions
Respond to complex inquiries from taxpayers, tax professionals, and elected officials that require management-level involvement
Qualification
Required
Graduation from an accredited high school or possession of a high school equivalency certificate
Six (6) years of professional work experience in auditing, accounting, tax law, general management, or customer service
Two (2) years of this professional work experience must have involved supervising professional revenue administrators, accountants, or auditors, or providing legal advice requiring the interpretation of tax laws in the capacity of a tax attorney, or having been in a responsible administrative or management capacity
Preferred
Four (4) years management level experience with at least two (2) years experience supervising tax auditors or income tax
