Responsibilities
Determines and authors the official record of every action in a court of general jurisdiction through the recording of minutes, maintaining custody of all notices and documents presented in court, receiving and processing of all exhibits, and directs courtroom procedures of hearings and trials involving simple and/or uncontested cases or where judges use expedited orders
Qualification
Required
Graduation from high school or equivalent
One (1) year of work experience in a court or legal setting, which included the preparation and/or processing of legal forms and documents in court proceedings
Note taking ability demonstrated through training and/or experience
Ability to type at a rate of 40 net words per minute
Qualified to possess firearm or ammunition in accordance with state and federal laws, e.g., no misdemeanor or felony domestic violence conviction
Preferred
Education at an accredited college or university in a paralegal, legal studies, law program, or a closely related field may be substituted on the basis of fifteen (15) semester credits for six (6) months of Specialized Experience up to a maximum of one (1) year
Graduation from an accredited college or university with a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Public Administration, Criminal Justice, Political Science, or a closely related field may be substituted for one (1) year of Specialized Experience
