Fitness A/V Equipment Technician

The Fitness A/V Equipment Technician supports the maintenance and repair of fitness and audio-visual equipment across YMCA facilities, ensuring equipment is safe and functional.

Responsibilities
Perform scheduled and unscheduled maintenance on fitness and audio-visual equipment across YMCA facilities
Identify and assess equipment malfunctions using basic diagnostic tools and techniques. Communicate findings clearly to the Manager and assist in determining appropriate repair solutions
Assist with the setup and installation of new fitness and A/V equipment, including assembling components, connecting electrical systems, and testing functionality
Monitor and report inventory levels of tools, parts, and supplies. Ensure proper use and storage of maintenance materials and maintain organized workspaces
Follow all YMCA safety protocols and OSHA guidelines during maintenance tasks. Immediately report any safety hazards, equipment failures, or incidents to the Manager
Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, repairs, and inspections. Complete incident and accident reports as required
Interact professionally with staff and members, responding to equipment-related concerns and providing basic guidance on safe usage when appropriate
Be familiar with emergency procedures and respond appropriately to incidents involving equipment or facility safety
Wear approved uniform at all times
Perform other duties as assigned by the Manager
Qualification
Required
Minimum age of 18 years old
Valid Driver's License
Preferred
1–2 years of experience in mechanical or electrical repair preferred
Basic knowledge of electrical schematics and mechanical systems
Working knowledge of OSHA guidelines
Current CPR PRO & First Aid certifications preferred
