Environmental Engineer

Responsibilities
Performing field investigations and ensuring that workplans are followed correctly and data handled appropriately; field work will include site inspections, soil characterization and sampling, stormwater, and groundwater sampling
Performing and overseeing operation and maintenance tasks on various types of remediation systems for groundwater treatment, vapor intrusion mitigation, soil vapor extraction (SVE), air sparging, and non-aqueous phase liquid (NAPL) recovery
Overseeing and documenting subcontractor activities on client sites and ensuring that work scopes are followed
Perform EHS compliance audits and implement follow-up corrective actions to assure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations and permits
Collating, tabulating, and interpreting data and developing conceptual models to support identification of sources and routes of exposure to human health and the environment
Working with senior staff to design remediation systems; document results and findings of data collection, technical evaluations, and design activities; and prepare plans and specifications for the investigation and remediation of hazardous waste sites and brownfields
Managing project schedules

Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in Environmental Engineering, Civil Engineering or similar degree required
Minimum of two (2) years of experience as an engineer/technician involved with site investigation planning, site remediation design and construction, and operation and maintenance of environmental remediation systems
Effective communication skills both oral and written
Ability to multi-task, stay organized, work independently, and collaborate with various project teams
Strong desire to grow personally as well as professionally
Great attitude and eager to learn
Current valid driver's license
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with high-volume workload and frequent short deadlines
Ability to obtain medical clearance to work on hazardous waste site(s)
Ability to lift up to 35 lbs
Ability to work 10-hour days
Ability to work remaining in a stationary position, often standing or sitting for prolonged periods
Ability to communicate with others to exchange information
Ability to assess the accuracy, neatness and thoroughness of the work assigned
Ability to travel occasionally, possibly overnight for customer meetings and site visits up to 50% of the time
Preferred
Master's degree
Entry-level is also acceptable
Engineer-In-Training certification or ability to obtain state license
OSHA HAZWOPER training
