Power Distribution Electrical Engineer

Responsibilities

Deliver electrical engineering expertise to support the design of electrical design packages and RFQ packages with on-time delivery to client
Research, understand and apply applicable codes, standards, and regulations from NEC, API, IEEE, ANSI, NFPA, etc
Conduct power system studies such as arc flash, load flow, and short circuit analysis using ETAP and SKM
Generate electrical design deliverables such as cable tray, grounding, and lighting plans, one-line diagrams, motor schematics, relay settings, area classification, UPS design, cable schedules, and any other electrical designs as required by the client
Analyze specifications and review the installation requirements for various pieces of electrical equipment
Perform quality control reviews on client deliverables
Collaborate daily with engineers, designers, and project managers on project status, designs, and process
Ensure that installations and applications are in accordance with clients’ needs and safety standards

Required

Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, or related field
Four (4)+ years related experience required
Knowledge and experience with medium/low voltage power, motor starters, VFDs, transformers, and related electrical equipment
Intermediate to Expert skills in Excel
Excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to conduct meetings and presentations
Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with quick responses to new issues
Ability to work on multiple projects at one time, prioritize tasks, and delegate when appropriate
Valid driver's license

Preferred

Experience with instrumentation and control systems a “plus”
