Responsibilities
Develop and refine the overall strategy for the Insurance Department to ensure alignment with the organization’s goals and financial targets
Spearhead initiatives to optimize revenue cycle processes and enhance financial outcomes across all departments involved in the revenue cycle
Engage with internal and external executive leadership to report on performance, strategic direction, and operational issues
Oversee the operations of coding, billing, and insurance follow-up
Ensure the smooth processing of claims and efficient management of accounts receivable
Address high-level operational issues and implement resolutions to improve efficiency and accuracy
Lead the identification and implementation of innovative technologies and processes to improve the revenue cycle management
Champion the adoption of best practices and cutting-edge solutions to maintain a competitive edge in revenue cycle operations
Continually assess and update procedures to adapt to changes in healthcare regulations and insurance policies
Monitor and manage key performance indicators (KPIs) for the revenue cycle, including cash flow, days in accounts receivable, denial rates, and cost to collect
Develop and execute strategies to enhance financial performance and reduce denials and write-offs
Provide detailed financial reports and analytics to guide decision-making and strategic planning
Lead a large team of revenue cycle professionals, promoting a culture of high performance, continuous improvement, and alignment with organizational values
Mentor and develop senior leaders within the revenue cycle department to ensure a strong leadership pipeline
Set performance standards and evaluate team effectiveness to achieve comprehensive operational goals
Ensure all revenue cycle activities comply with applicable laws, regulations, and standards
Oversee the implementation of compliance programs and conduct regular audits to mitigate risks associated with revenue cycle activities
Stay informed about changes in healthcare finance regulations to proactively adjust strategies
Work closely with other departments, including IT, client operations, and customer service, to ensure a cohesive approach to account resolution
Act as the primary revenue cycle liaison to external stakeholders such as clients, vendors, and regulatory bodies
Address escalated concerns from clients, ensuring high levels of satisfaction and trust
Qualification
Required
Demonstrate the ability to develop strategic plans that effectively align with organizational goals and drive financial performance
Exceptional leadership skills with the ability to motivate, guide, and develop a diverse team
Strong capability in financial analysis and data-driven decision making
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, capable of effectively managing relationships with stakeholders at all levels
Robust organizational abilities to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic environment
Master's degree in Healthcare Administration, Business Administration, or a related field required
At least 10-12 years of progressive experience in healthcare revenue cycle management, with a minimum of 5 years in a senior leadership role
Preferred
Certification in Healthcare Financial Management (CHFM) or similar is highly desirable
