Responsibilities
Maintaining repairs and general maintenance of city buildings
Follow work schedule as assigned, including related custodial chores as needed
Perform light maintenance and repairs using ladders and changing light bulbs
Report any safety hazards and damages in City buildings
Secure buildings after working hours or as required
Assist in setting up for and breaking down decorations and equipment for special events
Repair wood surfaces, paint structures or areas, remove and replace defective electrical switches and other fixtures
Assist on projects in compliance with all City, State, and safety codes
Provide assistance and support to other divisions within the department as needed
Qualification
Required
High school diploma, G.E.D. or equivalency
No experience required
Must have a current and valid class 'C' driver's license from the Texas Department of Public Safety
Preferred
Community college, vocational business, technical, or correspondence school certificates are likely sources
One (1) year of general carpentry, plumbing, repairs, and job training experience is preferred
Bilingual English/Spanish preferred
