Engineering Services Technician (2nd shift)

New Grad, Entry LevelMetcut Research Inc. is focused on providing customer data for Research and Development and Qualification runoff programs across various industries. The Engineering Services Technician will assist project engineers with the design, assembly, and testing of customer qualification programs and internal R&D efforts.

Responsibilities
Support design of new test apparatus as required
Own the setup, instrumentation, assembly, calibration and specimen preparation of lab test frames
Independently run lab tests and perform necessary data checks to ensure data quality
Support hardware and software architecture and programming of Data Acquisition Systems
Interface with internal and external shops, vendors and team members, including project engineers, test/machining associates and facilities maintenance associates
Troubleshoot and diagnose problems with test apparatus
Coordinate and work closely with teammates to execute lab team objectives
Ownership of developing test documentation including facility, frame build, and data sets
Qualification
Required
High school diploma. An Associates Degree in a technical and/or relevant test or engineering experience is a plus
Ability to lift 50 lbs. unassisted
Familiarity with the assembly and troubleshooting of mechanical and electrical systems
Familiarity with the use of measurement devices and data acquisition
This role is restricted to U.S. persons (i.e., U.S. citizens, permanent residents, and other protected individuals under the Immigration and Naturalization Act, 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3)) due to access to export-controlled technology. We will require proof of status prior to employment
Preferred
Associates Degree in a technical field
Strong oral and written communication skills
Strong interpersonal and leadership skills
Ability to work independently with minimal guidance
Effective problem identification and solution skills
Demonstrated success in a cross-functional team environment
Be willing and capable of working in a hands-on testing environment
Experience using and/or programming Labview or other data acquisition systems
