Responsibilities

Employee has responsibility for small, routine projects or performs portions of large projects assigned to a higher-grade professional (e.g., environmental engineer, program manager, or physical scientist)
Executes short-term goals and priorities to support environmental compliance programs to include hazardous waste, hazardous materials, water quality, POL, solid waste, air quality, and toxic substances utilizing available resources
Supports quality improvement and promotes environmental awareness programs
Ensures adherence to federal, state, and local codes concerning health, safety, and the environment. Ensures adherence to safety and security practices

Required

U.S. Citizenship is required
Males must be registered for Selective Service
Position may require an appropriate security clearance
Employee must maintain current certifications
Employee may be required to work other than normal duty hours, to include evenings, weekends and/or holidays
Shift work and emergency overtime may be required
All federal employees are required to have direct deposit
Applicants must have at least 1 year (52 weeks) of specialized experience at the next lower broadband NH-01, equivalent to the next lower grade GS-04 or equivalent in other pay systems
Successful completion of a 4 year course of study leading to a bachelor's degree in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to perform the work of the position
You must submit copies of your official college transcripts
You must show proof the education credentials have been deemed to be at least equivalent to that gained in conventional U.S. education program
Knowledge of environmental physical science principles, practices, techniques, and procedures to effectively perform project development, execution, training, and advisory services in assigned projects
Knowledge to troubleshoot environmental problems requiring investigation of unsanitary or questionable conditions in assigned projects
Knowledge of applicable Federal, State, and local laws, regulations, and other guidance to make decisions and recommendations concerning assigned restoration, compliance, conservation, pollution prevention, and/or integration principles and practices
Ability to establish effective working relationships with others
Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing, clearly, concisely, and with technical accuracy
