Acquisition Program Management Specialist-Direct Hire Authority
USAJOBS is seeking an Acquisition Program Management Specialist to serve as an Acquisition Program Manager directing or supporting significant DoD funded acquisition efforts. Responsibilities
Assesses progress in assigned projects/programs including cost estimates, schedules, and performance supportability baseline requirements by applying known methods and procedures
Plans, organizes, and coordinates activities of functional specialists including contracting, engineering, manufacturing, program control, configuration/data management, test, and logistics
Reviews and directs the progress of contractors in meeting program objectives
Prepares and presents staff studies for presentation to the Program Director and other management officials

Selectee is expected to be granted with and/or maintain the appropriate security clearance required for the position
Employee must maintain current certifications
Employee may be required to work other than normal duty hours, to include evenings, weekends and/or holidays
Shift work and emergency overtime may be required
All federal employees are required to have direct deposit
This position may require travel
This is an acquisition coded position. Selectee must complete required certification level 2-Practitioner in Program Management within 24 months of assignment
This position is a developmental NH-02 target NH-03 position. Individual selected may be promoted without further competition, upon meeting all legal and regulatory requirements
Applicants must have at least 3 years of general experience
General experience is 3 years of progressively responsible experience, 1 year of which was equivalent to at least GS-4
Knowledge of laws, principles, policies, and practices of systems acquisition and program management
Knowledge of business, industrial management, contracting procedures, technical concepts, and production practices to evaluate contractor proposals and activities
Knowledge of the missions, roles, functions, organizational structures, and operation of the Department of Defense, Air Force, and other entities that govern, interface with, and/or influence the systems acquisition process and integrated life cycle management
Ability to communicate both orally and in writing, clearly, concisely, and with technical accuracy
Ability to establish and maintain good relationships with individuals and groups within the office as well as outside the immediate work unit
Ability to plan, organize, and manage critical aspects of research, development, production, and support of subsystems or equipment, and integrate, analyze, and manage a variety of acquisition functions and personnel in support of the process
Preferred
The ideal candidate will have a minimum of one year of experience as an Acquisition Program Manager directing or supporting the activities of I&M DoD funded acquisition effort
