LEAD GENERAL SUPPLY SPECIALIST

MILITARY SEALIFT COMMAND is seeking a Lead General Supply Specialist to serve in the Logistics Directorate, Supply Chain Management Division. The role involves acting as an Approving Official for Government Purchase Card holders, monitoring order fulfillment processes, and participating in planning material and services requirements for operations and support.

Responsibilities

You will act as an Approving Official for Government Purchase Card holders
You will monitor order fulfillment processes
You will participate with applicable ship engineering and logistics staff in the planning of material and services requirements for operation, support, and repair throughout the life cycle phases
You will provide support by utilizing a variety of coordinating, facilitating, consensus-building and planning techniques
You will communicate assignments and projects to the team with actionable events and milestones with timeframes for completion

Required

Must be a US Citizen
Must be determined suitable for federal employment
Must participate in the direct deposit pay program
New employees to the Department of the Navy will be required to successfully pass the E-Verify employment verification check
Generally, current federal employees applying for GS jobs must serve at least one year at the next lower grade level
Within the Department of Defense (DoD), the appointment of retired military members within 180 days immediately following retirement date to a civilian position is subject to the provisions of 5 United States Code 3326
Males born after 12-31-59 must be registered for Selective Service
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector
Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Experience serving as the Technical Point of Contact by coordinating contract support services, evaluating contractor performance, and providing input to performance reports, etc
Experience with monitoring order fulfillment processes from commercial vendors, the federal supply system, and other Government activities, ensuring order fulfillment meets customer delivery/destination requirements
Experience updating order status and reporting within internal property systems and supporting material custody systems
Experience analyzing internal operations and current and potential workloads, existing workflow and procedures to evaluate efficiency and recommending changes as required
