(PSR) Patient Service Representative (Greenville)

They are seeking a Patient Service Representative (PSR) who will assist incoming and outgoing patients, manage appointments, and ensure accurate patient information handling across various lab sites.

Responsibilities
The FLOATER PSR will be expected to cover all New Horizon lab sites based on coverage needs. Be aware of and understand NHFHS processes and procedures
Receive telephone calls and provide assistance as needed. Transfer calls to the appropriate department or person. Forward messages in a timely manner
Greet patients and visitors; give instructions to direct the patient or visitor to the appropriate department or person
Maintain daily patient appointment scheduling, make patient appointment reminder calls, and retrieve medical records requests, if necessary
Register and/or update patient demographic information from patient registration forms into the practice management system on a daily basis
Register, update, and maintain insurance packages based on patient eligibility
Verify patient information
Address and maintain electronic health record (EHR) bucket responsibilities on a daily basis to include patient care summaries, no shows, ticklers, ect
Complete certification/recertification process for patients eligible for sliding fee discount based upon established criteria
Collect and enter patient payments, advance payments and payments on account into the EHR system on a daily basis
Perform end of day tasks such as preparation for next day registrations
Observe schedule for work, lunch and breaks
Performs any other duties as assigned by supervisor, CEO or designee in their absence
All front desk staff are required to maintain effective communication between the front desk and clinical staff
Utilize customer service skills when applying NHFHS procedures
Maintains a neat/well-organized work area
Notify supervisor and/or management of presence of suspicious activity observed in or around Center property
Participates in CQI, other internal committees, special projects/observances or activities that promote improvements in organizational performance and/or advance the mission, goals, and objectives of New Horizon Family Health Services
Applies de escalation and customer service skills as uncommon events present
All front desk staff MUST wear the designated uniform authorized by the organization
Must hold all patient Protected Health Information (PHI) other patient personal information and agency information in confidence, in accordance with the attached Employee Confidentiality Statement
Actively participate in and comply with all aspects of the NHFHS Corporate compliance Program, follow the Program Code of Conduct and obey all relevant laws, statutes, regulations and requirements applicable to Medicaid, Medicare and other State and Federal healthcare programs
Qualification
Required
A minimum of a high school diploma or equivalent
Medical Office Training certificate or other relevant education and training beyond high school preferred
Preferably two (2) years' experience in a medical office or other healthcare facility setting
