Georgia Regional Director

Responsibilities

Provide emotional and practical support to expectant and birth parents with a holistic, client-centered approach focused on both the parent and child’s wellbeing
Assist in the matching, placement, and post-placement supervision of children in adoptive homes, maintaining sensitivity to the emotional complexities involved
Compile and maintain a comprehensive list of required documents, tasks, and materials needed to complete licensing applications
Establish and maintain a Gladney address for licensing purposes
Prepare, complete, and submit licensing applications to the appropriate licensing authorities
Serve as the primary Gladney liaison and agent in all interactions with licensing agencies
Provide high quality case management and options counseling to expectant and birth mothers who are considering adoption within GA and the East Coast
Appear in court, if necessary, in GA to advocate for/complete in-state adoptions
Maintain confidentiality of all information and documents
Conduct home studies for both Gladney clients and contracted agencies or families
Complete post-placement updates for domestic, intercounty, and foster care adoptions for Gladney clients and contracted agencies/families
Maintain detailed client files, including progress notes, case records, social histories, service plans, and post-adoption correspondence forms
Make referrals to appropriate programs and services based on client needs
Assist clients with completing detailed background forms and provide guidance on agency policies and procedures
Identify and connect clients with community resources such as educational, housing, medical, counseling, and substance abuse services
Conduct outreach to hospitals and other professionals to promote adoption services
Perform other duties and special projects assigned to support organizational objectives and enhance operational efficiency

Required

Bachelor's degree and two years administrative or supervisory experience in a human services delivery field, GA licensing regulations
Experience conducting home studies or family assessments in a social services or adoption setting
Valid driver's license and reliable transportation for home visits and client meetings
Familiarity with state licensing regulations and requirements related to adoption and foster care
Strong organizational skills with attention to detail for managing documentation and record keeping
Excellent communication skills for liaising with licensing agencies, clients, and internal teams
Ability to advocate effectively with external agencies and follow through on application processes
Ability/availability to travel throughout the state of GA, and possibly to other states, to provide adoption services to expectant/birth mothers

Preferred

Master's degree in Social Work (MSW) or related field
Licensure as a Licensed Master Social Worker (LMSW), Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), or equivalent certification
Experience specifically with SAFE studies and knowledge of state-specific adoption and foster care processes
Proficiency with case management software and electronic record keeping systems
Strong networking skills and experience conducting outreach with hospitals, professionals, and community organizations
Multilingual abilities or experience working with diverse populations
