MEIHSS Lead Staffing Coordinator
Muckleshoot Indian Tribe is seeking a Lead Coordinator for Elders In-Home Care Services. The role involves overseeing staff scheduling and coordination of home care services for elders, ensuring high-quality and culturally sensitive care while collaborating with various agencies and departments.
Responsibilities
Establishes and maintains confidential and positive caring relationships with managers, staff, physicians, non-physician providers, departments, and elders/families
Evaluates staffing needs and makes recommendations as needed. Ensures adequate staffing levels for all shifts, to include coverage for planned or unplanned absences
Follows the master staffing schedule and prepares daily staffing sheets with continual revisions as necessary
Works productively and effectively within a complex environment with multiple/changing priorities, supporting implementation of programs and procedures developed at an organizational level
Serves as a highly engaged and full partner on the care team and responds willingly to care team member needs for assistance and partnership. Participates in work that improves patient care and the professional practice environment through quality assurance surveys and phone inquiries
Evaluates staff, addressing issues appropriately and continuously monitors staff to improve services provided
Develops and maintains a confidential client filing system, case records and required forms, including service episode records, care plans, risk assessments and/or safety plans and ensures other documentation is obtained and filed appropriately
Creates and maintains forms necessary for completion of scheduler’s task
Timely and accurately reports all concerns and incidents to management
Collaborate with contracted agencies to ensure the seamless integration of care services, maintain open lines of communication, and coordinate care plans effectively
Assist management by providing accurate schedules to facilitate informed leave request considerations, ensuring staffing levels are maintained during staff absences
Facilitates and coordinates transportation in emergencies
Prepares, organizes, and maintains appropriate resources, reports and statistical summaries
Participates in a variety of meetings, workshops, and committees for the purpose of conveying and/or gathering information required to perform functions and maintaining professional knowledge
Collaborates with community leaders, professional staff/consultants, and elders/families to identify, define, and meet elder home care needs, goals, and objectives
Because of the Tribe's commitment to community service and the well-being of its members, each employee may be expected to perform a wide range of office and field duties from time to time. Such duties may or may not be related to their regular responsibilities
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in social science, human services, health administration, geriatrics or related field
Three (3) years of experience providing complex administrative support that includes at least one (1) year experience in social work and/or health care environment
A combination of NAC/HCA certification and (4) years combined complex administrative support and social work in home health setting will be considered
Skill in Effectively interacting with a diverse group of people; communicating effectively verbally and in writing; using logic and reasoning; problem-solving; planning and managing projects; preparing and maintaining accurate records; using standard office equipment and personal computer, including pertinent software applications; time management; conflict resolution
Knowledge of Utilization review, quality assurance and managed health care concepts; clinical or client assessment; elder care and home care practices; HIPAA compliance; the English language including composition and grammar; human behavior; Native American culture and history
