Responsibilities
Exercise carpentry, construction, electrical, mechanical, plumbing, and grounds keeping skills on a daily basis
Ensure that the site is clean, presentable, and ready to be enjoyed by the tens of thousands of guests who visit each year
Support site operations by assisting with repair services on building systems and equipment
Perform grounds keeping duties
Assist with set-up and tear-down for special programs and events
Respond to after-hours alarms
Assist with the preservation of historic locomotives, railcars, and related equipment
Learn or expand knowledge of various building systems and their monitoring
Qualification
Required
Two years of experience in general maintenance work which has involved at least two of the building, electrical, or mechanical trades; or any equivalent combination of experience and training that affords the applicant with the Required Knowledges, Skills, and Abilities
This position requires possession of a current driver's license which is not under suspension
You must have two or more years of experience which has involved at least two of the following: Operation and maintenance of equipment, hand tools, and power tools; Operation and maintenance of vehicles including trucks, utility vehicles, lawn mowers, and snow removal equipment; Completing routine building repairs involving but not limited to plumbing, electrical, carpentry, and HVAC systems; Performing groundskeeping work and snow removal; Identifying maintenance issues and solving problems; Performing skilled and heavy manual labor indoors and outdoors; Communicating effectively both orally, electronically, and in writing
You must be able to perform essential job functions
This position falls under the provisions of the Child Protective Services Law. Under the Law, a conditional offer of employment will require submission and approval of satisfactory criminal history reports including, but not limited to, PA State Police clearance, PA Child Abuse history clearance, and FBI Fingerprint clearance
