Posttdoctoral Research Associate
The University of Illinois Chicago (UIC) is among the nation’s preeminent urban public research universities, and they are seeking a highly motivated postdoctoral fellow to work in a dynamic research environment funded by multi-year grants from the National Institutes of Health (NIH). The fellow will focus on tissue regeneration and developing advanced therapeutics, working on key research areas including Notch signaling and endothelial bone marrow niche regeneration.

Responsibilities
Employ multidisciplinary approaches by combining stem cell biology and genetic approaches with transgenic model systems and single cells analysis, to understand fundamental mechanisms of tissue regeneration and to develop advanced therapeutics for tissue injury
Develop his/her career by providing a collaborative and inclusive research environment
Encourage the preparation of research papers, application of fellowships, and presentation at national/international meetings
Qualification
Required
Ph.D. or M.D./Ph.D. degree in Biomedical Sciences
Preferred
Demonstrated expertise with a publication record in at least three of the following areas:
Cell biology techniques with required experience in: cell culture, flow cytometry, confocal microscopy
Molecular biology and engineering: e.g. plasmid cloning, CRISPR
Animal studies with rodents: e.g. transplantation, survival surgery, in vivo imaging
Minimum of two first-author primary research articles in international journals
Strong writing skills and oral communication
Inherent motivation to pursue high quality research
Evidence of collaboration and mentoring of others
