Civil Engineer II (or Civil Engineer I*) - City
The City of Oklahoma City is seeking a Civil Engineer II to join the Engineering Division of its Utilities Department. This position involves analyzing, evaluating, designing, and executing engineering projects to ensure a reliable water supply for the city.

Responsibilities
Analyze, evaluate, design, and execute engineering projects
Develop engineering design specifications for proposed projects or systems modifications
Provide functional supervision to lower-level professional and technical staff
Review construction plans to ensure compliance with City codes, ordinances, standards, and overall project feasibility
Coordinate the proper implementation of plans in actual construction
Appraise property values and determine specific requirements for the completion of engineering projects
Qualification
Required
Skill in using engineering knowledge, principles, practices, and techniques to analyze public-works engineering projects and problems
Skill in assessing pertinent technical information
Skill in critically reviewing construction plans
Skill in designing construction projects
Skill in conveying technical information
Skill in reviewing existing engineering systems for adequacy in meeting present and future demands
Skill in preparing construction cost estimates
Skill in coordinating the work of technicians, assistants, and less-experienced engineers
Skill in critically reviewing engineering reports
Skill in monitoring and maintaining compliance with project budgets
Skill in relating to others with tact and diplomacy
Skill in verbal and written communication
Ability to make comprehensive decisions
Possession of a Professional Engineer's License (Oklahoma)
Possession of a Project Management Professional Certification
Possession of a valid Driver License (Operator or higher)
Preferred
Minimum of two (2) years' experience administering or managing engineering design or construction projects
Experience in designing, reviewing and managing water or wastewater treatment projects, large diameter pipelines, pumping stations and/or facility projects
Possession of a bachelor's degree or higher in environmental, civil, mechanical or chemical engineering
