The Commonwealth of Pennsylvania is seeking a Maintenance Repairman 1 to join their Department of General Services. This role involves performing semi-skilled maintenance and grounds duties for the Capitol Complex and related facilities, including lawn care, snow removal, and operating grounds keeping equipment.

Responsibilities

Perform a variety of semi-skilled maintenance and grounds duties for the Capitol Complex and outlying facilities
Perform semi-skilled maintenance and repair work on all grounds keeping vehicles and equipment when assigned to the maintenance garage
Responsible for the appearance, general care, and maintenance of the grounds to include gardens, trees, shrubbery, lawn care, and snow and ice removal
Operate and utilize a variety of mechanized and motorized grounds keeping equipment and tools to maintain lawn and garden areas
Drive light vehicles such as jeeps, pickup trucks, small dumps, and other miscellaneous equipment related to grounds keeping
Monitor the exterior of the Capitol Complex and related outlying buildings to include removing litter and debris from grounds, sidewalks, streets, and parking areas
Load and unload items from trucks and maintain supply and equipment storage areas in a clean and orderly condition

General maintenance experienceBuilding trades knowledgeElectrical trades knowledgeMechanical trades knowledgeValid Pennsylvania Class C License

Required

Two years of experience in general maintenance work which has involved at least two of the building, electrical, or mechanical trades
Any equivalent combination of experience and training that affords the applicant with the Required Knowledges, Skills, and Abilities
Possession of a valid Pennsylvania Class C Driver's License
Ability to perform essential job functions
