Responsibilities

Work in the STP-E, for children ages 6-12 in elementary school
Supervise children during recreational activities and classroom activities
Implement an extensive behavior modification treatment program during all program activities
Record, track, and enter daily records of children's behavior and response to the treatment
Prepare assignments and classroom materials
Assist teachers with classroom management
Grade children's assignments and provide feedback to children
Provide small group instruction
Enter daily data
Perform other classroom duties as required
Assist the Art Teacher in project preparation and room setup
Provide individual assistance to children in the art room
Evaluate classroom rules and provide feedback to children when they violate classroom rules
Conduct small-group instruction and demonstration of appropriate techniques
Keep records of children's behavior in the art room
Coordinate and supervise daily aftercare activities for children

Required

Bachelor's degree in Education, Special Education, Psychology, Behavior Analysis, Social Work, or related field OR an equivalent combination of education and/or experience
Experience working with children or adolescents in settings such as summer camps, after-school programs, sports programs, daycare programs, and educational programs
Ability to visually scan the environment, effectively attend to and hear verbal exchanges between children
Ability to provide neutral, corrective feedback on children's misbehavior (which can include aggression)
Ability to provide a consistent, warm, positive climate for children

Preferred

Undergraduate-level study in Education, Special Education, Psychology, Behavior Analysis, Social Work, or related field
