Intermediate Hydrogeologist

WSP is currently initiating a search for an Intermediate Hydrogeologist for their offices in Redmond, WA or Tigard, OR. The role involves providing technical field support for geologic and hydrogeologic investigations and collaborating with team members to meet client objectives.

Responsibilities

Providing technical field support for a variety of geologic and hydrogeologic investigations and data collection, hydrogeologic testing, geologic and hydrogeologic visualization, contaminated sites investigations
Providing technical support in compilation and analysis of hydrogeologic data, and development of conceptual hydrogeological site models
Work closely with other members of the WSP teams in Redmond and other offices
Perform additional responsibilities as required by business needs

Required

Bachelor's degree in Hydrogeology, or Geology, Geosciences with a specialization in hydrogeology through course work, undergraduate projects/thesis, or internship
1 to 3 years of post-education experience working as a Hydrogeologist
Working knowledge of Microsoft Word/Excel
Desire to effectively communicate technical information to colleagues in a readily understood format
All candidates must have excellent and demonstrated verbal and written communications skills
Strong commitment to quality and timely delivery of services
Strong commitment to health and safety
Must successfully complete and pass WSP's Motor Vehicle screening
Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
Occasional travel may be required depending on project-specific requirements

Preferred

Post-graduate degree (M.Sc., Ph.D.) in Hydrogeology, Geology, Geosciences, Engineering, or related discipline
Geologist-in-Training (GIT)
Strong all-around academic knowledge of physical hydrogeology and geology
Academic knowledge of water quality and geochemistry
Practical experience with physical hydrogeology including borehole logging, monitoring well installation, hydraulic conductivity testing, transducer deployment, and water quality and solids sampling
Strong computer skills including working with Python and/or R, GIS-type software, digital databases, aquifer test analysis software (AQTESOLV), and visualization software (Leapfrog)
OSHA 40-Hour HAZWOPER training
