EPC Power Corp. is seeking a Staff Accountant (Accounts Payable) to manage all accounts payable activities. The role involves supervising a team, ensuring timely payments, maintaining financial records, and supporting month-end closing activities.

Responsibilities

Coordinate with vendors and internal parties to resolve accounts payable issues
Determine appropriate accounting treatment of transactions
Assist AP Specialists to verify vendor invoices for accuracy, proper approval, 3-way matching, and correct coding
Prepare and execute weekly payment runs (ACH, wire, checks)
Reconcile vendor statements and resolve discrepancies or disputes
Record transactions in the general ledger
Assist with month-end and year-end closing, including accruals and reconciliations
Support internal and external audits by providing required documentation
Respond to vendor and internal inquiries regarding payments and invoices
Identify and recommend process improvements to increase efficiency and accuracy
Take on other accounting projects and tasks as needed

Required

Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
2–5 years of experience in accounting roles, with accounts payable exposure
Strong understanding of accounting principles and AP processes
Proficiency in accounting software and ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, NetSuite)
Intermediate skills in Microsoft Excel
High attention to detail and accuracy
Strong organizational and time-management skills
Good communication and interpersonal skills

Preferred

Experience in a high-volume AP environment
Knowledge of sales and use tax
