Senior, Systems Administrator - CAGE
Connected Logistics builds secure, mission-critical IT and logistics solutions for the U.S. Army and other federal stakeholders. They are seeking a Senior Systems Administrator for the Defense Logistics Agency (DLA) Commercial and Government Entity (CAGE) Program Office, responsible for ensuring the stable operation of software systems and network connections.

Responsibilities
The Senior, Systems Administrator - CAGE ensures the stable operation of the in-house computer software systems and network connections for the CAGE system of applications and capabilities
This includes planning, developing, installing, configuring, maintaining, supporting, and optimizing all network software and communication links
Organizes and directs the configuration and operation of CAGE information management systems
Analyzes and resolves end-user software program and connectivity issues
Conducts capacity and performance analysis and provides system configuration change and upgrade recommendations
Increases system administrator efficiency and accuracy via the use of automated tools and scripts, develops system administrator procedures, and conducts system administrator training and skills assessment
When required, provides end-user training
Provides recommendations on technology direction to align with business vision
Provides local and remote maintenance support to various operational systems deployed at more than one location
Support includes general maintenance, upgrades, and new installs of servers and applications
Directs the work of other system administrators to provide the day-to-day system administration to including system and resource optimization, and user assistance
Applies advanced technical knowledge of application networking, including load balancing applications, and ensuring fault tolerance
Performs vulnerability management
The Senior System Administrator - CAGE manages, maintains, and secures critical IT infrastructure (servers, networks, storage) within secure environments, focusing on high availability, compliance (STIGs/RMF), automation (scripting), advanced troubleshooting (AD, VMware, Linux/Windows), and providing senior-level support/mentorship, often involving documentation, patching, and responding to incidents to ensure mission readiness
System Management & Maintenance:
Install, configure, operate, and maintain servers, storage, and peripherals
Administer Active Directory (AD), DNS, DHCP, Group Policy (GPO), and VMware environments
Ensure system stability, integrity, and performance for core organizational functions
Perform hardware and software upgrades and maintenance
Security & Compliance:
Apply and validate DoD Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIGs) to ensure secure configurations
Implement and manage security controls, patching, and vulnerability remediation
Participate in Risk Management Framework (RMF) documentation and accreditation
Monitor for security threats and risks, managing firewalls
Automation & Documentation:
Develop and maintain Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), documentation, and network diagrams
Automate routine tasks using scripting languages like PowerShell, Python, or Ansible
Create and maintain OS images for deployment
Support & Troubleshooting:
Provide advanced, Tier 2/3 technical support, resolving complex incidents
Monitor system performance (e.g., SCOM) and manage backups/disaster recovery
Escalate issues and provide detailed reports (DLA INFOSPOTS, SITREPs, AARs) for critical outages
Leadership & Strategy:
Plan for future hardware/software needs and long-term system requirements
Collaborate with cross-functional teams and communicate with military/civilian stakeholders
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in Information Technology-related field with ten (10) years of relevant experience
Specialized experience in the field of Information Processing disciplines involving a range of hardware/software solutions, with at least ten (10) years of progressive hands-on experience in installing, configuring, maintaining, and resolving issues with various software
Must have experience with Agile software development methodologies
Must possess IT-I Critical Sensitive security clearance or Tier 5 (T5) at time of proposal submission
8570/8140 IAT III such as CISM, CISSP or equivalent
Role: Server Admin Applications or Function Administrator
Preferred
One or more of the following certifications: COMPTIA, Azure, IBM MQ, Windows Web Server IIS
