Responsibilities
100% litigation, defense-side focused
Work across multiple practice areas rather than being pigeonholed, including:
Insurance defense
Employment litigation
Personal injury
Government entity representation (cities, counties, police practices)
Bad faith and related coverage disputes
Handle cases from intake through trial
Take and defend depositions, attend mediations and arbitrations, develop strategy, and work directly with clients
Mentor junior attorneys and play a visible role within the team
Qualification
Required
Active California Bar admission
4+ years of California civil litigation defense experience
Strong defense-side litigation background with transferable trial skills
Willing to be primarily in-office initially (hybrid possible longer-term)
Preferred
Experience in insurance defense, employment, PI, government entities, or bad faith
Trial experience (first or second chair)
Prior DA, PD, or plaintiff-side litigation experience with strong courtroom exposure
Leadership mindset and interest in mentoring and long-term growth
