Responsibilities
Possess knowledge of a broad range of professional engineering concepts, principles, practices, techniques, and methods in building design and construction process
Interpret federal policies, regulations, and building codes related to design, construction, and commissioning of building systems
Oversee contractor engineering staff in achieving its facility maintenance objectives in support of the organizational mission
Perform engineering analysis on production and facility issues related to current and future production capacity needs
Perform technical analysis of cost proposals (TACPs) pertaining to new contracts
Evaluate the contractor’s performance and engineering approaches for technical adequacy, compatibility with program objectives, and satisfaction of contractual requirements
Assure compliance with Federal Acquisition Regulations and permitting for construction activities
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree (or higher degree) in engineering from a program accredited by the Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology (ABET) or equivalent coursework
Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret (Tier 3) security clearance
Must be able to obtain and maintain a Contracting Officer Representative (COR) certification
One year of specialized experience to include: (1) Interpreting reports related to general engineering such as design drawings, technical bulletins, and technical manuals; (2) Evaluating electrical currents, circuit elements and/or equipment associated with the facility and machine requirements; and (3) Evaluating machine design, structural adequacy, manufacturing practices and/or production capacities
