Responsibilities

Collaborate cross-functionally with engineers and project managers for analysis and design of foundations for bridges, marine structures, and large infrastructure, supporting all project phases
Perform advanced soil-structure interaction, geotechnical, and dynamic analysis using finite element software, and execute geotechnical/structural design
Utilize industry-standard software for deep and shallow foundation design, providing recommendations to structural team members
Analyze and design earth retaining structures, conduct slope stability analyses, and determine settlement
Prepare design deliverables, offer detailed geotechnical design recommendations, and ensure quality control validation of calculations, drawings, and specifications
Implement design best practices, ensure compliance with codes, standards, and client requirements, and conduct site visits and client interactions as needed

Required

A M.S. or higher degree in Civil or Geotechnical Engineering, focusing on the design of deep foundations
A Professional Engineering License (P.E.) or can obtain the same within 6 months of employment
A min. of 10+ years' experience working as a geotechnical engineer, with an emphasis on soil-structure interaction analysis and engineering designs of bridges, tunnels, or marine structures
Experience and proficiency with finite element software (PLAXIS 2-D and 3-D or FLAC)
Familiarity with US standards and codes (IBC, AASHTO, API, FHWA, NAVFAC, USACE manuals, etc.)
The ability to collaborate with various technical disciplines, including structural engineers, environmental specialists, BIM, and CADD teams
